Your applicable travel fee will be disclosed before your appointment is confirmed. Additional notarial fees will depend on the notarial acts actually performed.
For locations more than 50 miles away, please contact NaTea for availability and a travel quote.
Texas Government Code §406.024 currently allows these maximum fees for common traditional notarial acts:
Used when a signer needs to formally acknowledge that they signed a document willingly and for its intended purpose. The signer must personally appear before the notary and provide satisfactory identification. Common examples may include deeds, powers of attorney, agreements, and other documents requiring an acknowledgment. Additional signatures on the same acknowledgment or proof may be charged $1 each, as permitted by Texas law.
Used when a signer must swear or affirm that the statements in a document are true. The signer personally appears before the notary, takes an oath or affirmation, and signs the document as required. The notary then completes the appropriate notarial certificate and applies their official seal.
Common examples may include affidavits, sworn statements, and other documents requiring the signer to swear or affirm that the information provided is true.
The notary cannot select the type of notarization
Used when a notary is authorized to complete and certify a notarial act that is not specifically covered by another fee category under Texas law. The notary completes the appropriate certificate and applies their official notary seal. The exact notarial certificate required must be provided by the document or determined by the signer or requesting party. The notary cannot choose a certificate or provide legal advice.
Applies when a copy is made from a record or paper maintained in the notary’s office, when permitted by Texas law. This service does not mean a Texas notary can certify copies of every type of document. Certain records, including some vital and government-issued records, must be obtained or certified by the appropriate issuing agency.
Applies to an authorized notarial act for which Texas law does not establish another specific fee. The service performed must still be within the legal authority of a commissioned Texas Notary Public. The notary cannot provide legal advice, prepare legal documents, or determine which type of notarization a customer needs.
Mobile travel fees are separate and based on the appointment location.
• The document(s) requiring notarization
• A valid, acceptable form of identification when required
• All required signers present with appropriate identification
• Any required witnesses, unless arrangements have been discussed in advance
• Your preferred method of payment
Important: Please do not sign documents ahead of time when the notarial act requires the document to be signed in the notary's presence.
Not sure whether your document requires an acknowledgment, oath/affirmation, or another type of notarization? Please contact the person or organization that provided the document for instructions. As a Texas Notary Public, I cannot select a notarial certificate or provide legal advice.
When identification is required for your notarial act, please have current identification acceptable under Texas law.
If you're unsure whether your identification will be acceptable, contact me before your appointment so we can discuss the identification you have available.
Please do not send photographs of sensitive identification documents by text or email unless specifically necessary and requested through an appropriate process.
Payment: Payment is due at the time services are rendered unless other arrangements have been made in advance.
Travel Fee: Mobile travel fees are separate from notarial fees and are based on the distance to the appointment location. Your travel fee will be disclosed before your appointment is confirmed.
Multiple Documents: The mobile travel fee applies to the appointment/location, not to each document. Applicable Texas notarial fees are charged separately based on the notarial acts performed.
Unable to Complete a Notarization: A notarization may be declined or unable to be completed when legal requirements cannot be satisfied. Please make sure all necessary signers, identification, documents, and required witnesses are available for the appointment.
Cancellations: Please provide as much notice as possible if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment.
Nonrefundable Mobile Trip Fee:
The applicable mobile travel fee is required to confirm your appointment and is nonrefundable. This fee reserves your appointment time and covers travel to the agreed appointment location. Notarial fees are charged separately for notarial acts actually performed.
Cancellation/Rescheduling:
If you need to cancel or reschedule, please provide at least 2 hours' notice. With timely notice, the trip fee may be transferred one time to a rescheduled appointment, at NaTea's discretion, provided the new appointment is within the same travel zone.
Late Cancellation:
Appointments cancelled with less than 2 hours' notice will forfeit the trip fee. A new trip fee will be required to schedule another mobile appointment.
No-Show:
If the signer is unavailable, does not arrive, or cannot be reached at the agreed location and time, the appointment will be considered a no-show. The trip fee will not be refunded, and a new trip fee will be required for another appointment.
Notarization Cannot Be Completed:
The trip fee remains nonrefundable if the notarial act cannot be completed because the signer does not have required identification or witnesses, the document is incomplete, the signer is unwilling or unable to complete the required notarial act, or another legal requirement prevents the notarization.
The notary will never charge a notarial fee for a notarial act that was not actually performed.
Please have your documents, identification, required signers, and any required witnesses ready before your scheduled appointment.
